RAVEN GT 2

“If claims of dubious wizardry, ostentatiousness and ‘bling’ styling are the chief requirements from your vinyl spinner, then look elsewhere, as TW ACUSTIC’s Raven GT and Raven 10.5 offer none of these. However, intelligent design, superlative engineering, neat styling and just a hint of vinyl magic ensure that the combo offers a stunning performance that puts it right up with the long-playing greats.”

RAVEN AC

Editors Choice – The Absolute Sound

“The three-motor Raven AC-3 is an unsuspended table of relatively low mass made from very high-quality materials, including spectacular bits of copper. Every part of this black beauty has been machined to the highest possible tolerances; every aspect of its design ( from its standard- setting speed controller to its gel-filled, copper topped platter) has been tested and retested by measurement and by ear. The result of all this labor and ingenuity is a table that reproduces the duration of notes – from starting transient through lingering decay-more completely than any other. Perhaps the most purely “musical” table on the market.”
(reviewed by JV, Issue 180)

The Absolute Sound Golden Ear Award 2008

“This beautiful, superbly crafted, copper topped, three motor`table from Germany`s Thomas Woschnick ( the TW of TW Acustic) has garnered rave reviews worldwide. It surely deserves them as it reproduced the duration of musical notes – from starting transientto steady-state tone to decay – with grweater completeness and resolution than anything else I`ve yet heard. The result is astonishingly beautiful (and lifelike) reproduction of timbre and dynamic nuance.”
Jonathan Valin, Golden Ear Award 2008

“Here’s a company to watch. Whether you’re Looking at the fully tricked-out, three motor, Raven AC3 (see JV’s review in Issue 180) or this entry-level model, TW Acustic turntables are exeptionally musical, detailed, beautifully made, and of high value. Sharing much of the AC-3’s technology from the high-torque microprocessor-controlled, quartz-referenced DC motor to the specially formulated composite plinth material to the bearing assembley, and beyond the Raven One is the best high-end turntable value I know of.”
(Zitat: Wayne Garcia, Golden Ear Award 2008)

The absolute sound – March 2008  Jonathan Valin

“… The Raven AC-3 is not just a work of engineering genius, it is a work of musical genius, breaking previously unturned ground in the very areas (realistic tone color and dynamic nuance) that are the keys to enjoyment for most music lovers. It will remain in my system, alongside the mighty Walker, for as long as I`m allowed to keep it. This is that rare component that you will not only listen to, but also (quickly) fall in love with, and at its price, it is a steal. Naturally, it gets my highest recommendation.”

Soundstage May 2008  Marc Mickelson

“The simple goal of spinning a record has a significant new manifestation in the TW ACUSTIC Raven AC. Designer Thomas Woschnick’s decade of R&D has created a turntable that can stand among its top-of-the-line peers from other manufacturers. The Raven AC makes a strong statement about the right way for an LP to sound — with the richness, body and tonal color inherent in live music — and presents an effective model for dealing with unwanted noise that can blur or mask musical detail. The Raven AC addresses the issues of analog playback in thoughtful ways, and the sonic outcome is hard to argue with. Turntables makers who are committed to their task with singular focus are a rare breed, but some of them do exist. VPI’s Harry Weisfeld, Basis Audio’s A.J. Conti, and Immedia’s Allen Perkins have all created more than one well-received turntable, and each has his own ideas about how to do it. Add Thomas Woschnick to this list. The Raven AC is a rare accomplishment and a fresh new analog voice.”

RAVEN Black Night
